No one is really sure how old he is, but it's well-known and documented that he was on the mortal plane for other two thousand years. He was once one of Mundus's most trusted Knights, but then he turned against his master and led a small group of demons in helping to defend humanity from the rest of demon-kind. [ Appearance ] – Sparda is, at the very least, a dashing figure. In his more human form, he looks very similar to both of his twin sons. His hair is generally worn swept back and flat to his head - closer to Vergil's style but without spikes in it. His clothing is generally very formal and stylish and he also wears a gold-rimmed monocle. In demonic form, Sparda is a human sized demon, with cloven hooves, a semi-reptilian hide, a pair of sweeping horns, two pairs of insectoid wings and one pair of chiropteran/bat wings. His entire body appears to be made of grey armor with accents and overtones of tyrian purple, and features ornamental decorations, such as gold trim along his "crown," a vertical red gem in his forehead, as well as gold knee and elbow guards. It is unknown if these are part of an external armor or whether they are natural features of his anatomy. [ Personality ] – Sparda's personality is also similar to that of both his sons. At times he can be fully as reckless and devil-may-care (pun intended) as Dante. But at other times, he can be much more serious. In general, he tends to be quieter than Dante, but there is still a definite air of humor about him, and an almost dry wit that he brings to just about anything he says. [ History ] – No one is quite sure how old Sparda is, in truth. It's likely that he was created at a point so far back in time that almost no one else still living remembers it. Sparda was one of the most trusted of Mundus's Knights and advisers for a long time. But then Mundus started to go too far, in the human world. His hold on mortals got tighter and tighter, until very nearly all was chaos and death. Sparda saw what was going on, and he didn't agree with it. And so, gathering just a small handful of supporters, he began seeking to overthrow Mundus. When that proved to be impossible, Sparda instead turned to defending the humans. He became their protector and leader, and in some places he is still worshiped as a god. In the end, Sparda gave of his own blood and power in order to seal the entrance to the demon world - trapping all the rest of the demons there, along with a good portion of his own power. He then wandered the world for close to two thousand years, ruling and setting up governments, cleaning up what the demons had done. Finally, feeling what power he had left waning, he married a human woman and sired twin sons to be the protectors of the world after he was gone - for he fully expected to die. That was almost the case. Instead, a small, elite, group of demons managed to break out of hell, coming after Sparda and his family. At the time, his twin sons were teenagers. Rather than killing Sparda, the demons simply took him back to hell - there to hand him over to Mundus for years of torture and pain. Sparda has believed since then, that the entire rest of his family died in the attack. He knows nothing of the events that Dante and Vergil have been through while he was held prisoner. Lately, however, one of two of his jailers got too complacent, too sure of themselves and of his inability to escape. Seizing upon this opportunity, Sparda slowly gathered power to himself until he managed to break free, just barely escaping from hell. Since that time, he has been on the run ... but with an added bonus. Being in hell again restored much of his former power to him, and only time is needed before all of it comes back to the one it once belonged to. He is hunted, still, having already fended off several groups of demons sent to get him back. But, having heard certain rumors, Sparda has begun to hope, wildly, that at least one of his sons might still be alive. The Dark Knight has since made his way to Dusk, where he's signed on as a teacher. For the moment, he is still much weaker than he should be, but he is also hoping the gathering of power at the school will help to protect him if yet more demons are sent to drag him back to hell again. [ Pets ] – none [ Other ? ] – Sparda's main weapon is a broadsword called Force Edge. He is also proficient in just about any other weapon he picks up XD;; Including guns. | |||||
